By using this website you agree to the terms of use of this agreement.
The Federation of Orthopaedic and Trauma Trainees in Europe (hereinafter referred to as “FORTE” “we” or “us”) reserves the right to change these terms from time to time.
Shall such changes are made, the changes and the date they become effective will be posted on the FORTE website.
Visitors and users of this website (or “you”) may view the current version of this “Terms of Use Agreement” in the ninth section of this disclaimer.
These terms of use may be updated at any time. Such updates will be effective from the date of the uploading of the revised terms to the website. Please ensure that you regularly read the latest version of the terms of use statement.
2. Description of Service
The FORTE website is a platform that includes services and information designed for members of National and Speciality Societies, embedded in the FORTE Federation.
Detailed information on the members and types of memberships to the FORTE Federation can be found in the “Constitution” section. All information contained within this part of the site is intended only for state-licensed physicians and residents and/or medical students.
As a physician, you should use your own professional judgment in evaluating the information provided through this website.
This website may include information and additional content, such as patient education material, provided by FORTE or others. This site is in no way intended to serve as a substitute for your medical diagnosis or treatment.
3. Third-Party Content
This website may contain information provided by third parties or provides links to other external websites. Although FORTE uses protocols and review processes for the content posted, we assume no responsibility for the information provided by third parties or for the content on other Internet websites to which we provide links.
FORTE is a distributor (and not a publisher) of content, supplied by third parties and FORTE members.
Accordingly, FORTE has no more editorial control over the portal content than a public library, bookstore or newsstand has. At no time does FORTE make any representation or warranty regarding any sponsor’s products or services, nor will we be liable for the sponsor’s products or services.
4. Participation
FORTE has held and is planning to hold sessions in various meetings and congresses held by other authorities. FORTE further holds the right to plan and hold independent meetings, courses, and congresses of any sort. In such cases, abstracts and relevant personal data are to be submitted through this website.
FORTE may accept or reject your registration and participation in this service for any reason at its sole discretion, including the suspension or deletion of your access data.

FORTE takes reasonable measures to ensure that the information contained within this site is reliable, however, by using this website, you accept the products and services provided here “AS IS”.
FORTE makes no express or implied warranty regarding the accuracy, content, completeness, reliability, operability, or legality of information contained within its public website, including, without limitation, the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement of proprietary rights.
6. Consequences
If you violate the terms of this agreement and cause harm to others, you agree to indemnify and hold FORTE, its sponsors, and vendors harmless from and against any and all loss, damage, or expense.
7. Restricted Access
Some areas of this website may be accessible only by means of a username and password. You agree that you are solely responsible for maintaining the strict confidentiality of the username and password. You agree to notify the portal administration of any unauthorized use of your username and password.

Copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws apply to the materials on this website.
9. Terms of Use
FORTE – The Federation of Orthopaedics and Trauma Trainees in Europe seeks to ensure that the information published on the website is up-to-date and accurate. By registering for the abstract submission system you accept and consent that certain of your personal information, i.e. your first and last name, email address, profession, and professional interests might be accessed by other registered users.
FORTE, via its registration form and other questionnaires, collects the following personal information in order to register the users to the abstract submission portal:
- Title
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Gender
- Nationality
- Address Type
- Mobile Phone
- Profession
- Medical qualification
- Position
- Field of employment
- Membership affiliation
- Professional interests
- Working Country
- Information regarding fellowship activities
When registering as a user, individuals must provide a personal email address and a password. FORTE will not and cannot register anyone as a user without this information. FORTE is committed to ensuring that users’ personal information is used properly and is stored securely.
FORTE uses this Registration Data in order to register people as users of the abstract submission portal, and to provide users with services available throughout the site.
FORTE may also use Registration Data in order to contact users by email with newsletters and service-related announcements.
FORTE may also use Registration Data to contact users about products and services that FORTE thinks may be of interest to them and to request user participation in surveys or other activities related to FORTE activities or other projects with which FORTE is involved.
The Individual participation in these surveys will be completely voluntary and the information gathered by these submitted to the actual terms of use constraints.
By accessing or using the abstract submission portal, you agree to this Statement and Responsibilities:
- Users will not post any false personal information, or create an account for anyone other than themselves without permission.
- Users will keep their contact information accurate and up to date.
- Users will not post content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or that contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.
- Users will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user.
- Users will not upload viruses or other malicious code.
- Users will not do anything that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working of the FORTE website, such as a denial of service attack.
- Users will not use the FORTE website to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.
- Users will not solicit log-in information or access an account belonging to another user.
- Users will not share their password, let anyone else access their account, or do anything else that might jeopardize the security of their account.
- Users will not transfer their account to anyone.
- Users will not post any confidential or proprietary information.
- Users will not facilitate or encourage any violations of this Statement.
All the information on the website does not constitute in any case legal and/or professional advice.
No guarantee of resolution of problems is expressed or implied with any information FORTE website. Consequently, in no event shall FORTE, its employees, associates or members, or any registered user, be liable to any person or individual for any loss or damage whatsoever that may arise from the use of this site or any of the information available on this site. Any information or advice is to be applied at the user’s discretion.
FORTE reserves the right to remove any content or information posted, disable an account as appropriate, or even stop providing all or part of the abstract submission portal if it believes that a user is violating the terms and/or spirit of this Statement or otherwise creating possible legal exposure for FORTE. FORTE will then notify the user by email directly or the next time the user attempts to access his/her account.
If any portion of this Statement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining portion will remain in full force and effect. If we fail to enforce any of these statements, it will not be considered a waiver. Nothing in this Statement shall prevent FORTE from complying with the law.
This Statement makes up the entire agreement between the parties regarding the FORTE website and supersedes any prior agreements.

In addition to the aforementioned ways of data collection, FORTE may also collect personal data about you by sending cookies to your computer.

FORTE is committed to maintaining the privacy of every current, former, and prospective user.

This policy may be updated at any time. Such updates will be effective from the date of the uploading of the revised policy to the website.

Personal data collected about you may be used to verify your identity and eligibility, to provide information to you in your field of interest that we believe may be of interest to you, to record your interest in services that we offer, and to respond properly to your requests for information. FORTE may, in accordance with the respective requirements under the applicable law and solely for the purpose mentioned in this Policy, transfer your personal data to other jurisdictions. Except for the purposes set out in this Policy, we do not sell, rent or otherwise disclose to any third party any personal data about the Users, except with such person’s consent or as otherwise permitted or required by law.
We will store your personal data, in accordance with the applicable law, for so long as such data is needed for the purposes set out in this Policy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal data, including firewalls, individual passwords, and encryption and authentication technology, and take all other necessary and adequate administrative, technical, personnel, and physical measures to safeguard the same against loss, theft, unauthorized use, disclosure, or modification and to ensure its integrity. Please note, however, that data transported over an open network, such as the Internet or e-mail, may be accessible to anybody.
FORTE cannot guarantee and is not responsible for, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted via such open networks. When disclosing any personal data via an open network, you should remain mindful of the fact that it is potentially accessible to others, and consequently, can be collected and used by others without your consent. In particular, while individual data packets are often encrypted, the names of the sender and recipient are not. Even if both the sender and recipient are located in the same country data may also be transmitted via such networks to other countries regularly and without controls, including countries that do not afford the same level of data protection as your country of domicile.
Your data may be lost during transmission or may be accessed by unauthorized parties. We do not accept any liability for direct or indirect losses as regards the security of your data during its transfer via the Internet. Please use other means of communication if you think this is necessary or prudent for security reasons.
You have the right to be informed, upon written request to FORTE Head Office at info@forteortho.org.
FORTE will notify you of all the personal data it stores about you. You may also request that any incorrect or incomplete personal data stored about you be corrected or that the personal data hold stored about you be deleted.
Portuguese law shall in all respects govern this Policy. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the ordinary courts of Portugal.
12. Complete Agreement
If any provision or provisions of this agreement are held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction not to be enforceable, then such provisions shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that this agreement shall otherwise remain in full force and effect. This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties pertaining to its subject matter and supersedes any earlier agreements, memoranda, or understandings. It may not be modified except as described elsewhere in this agreement. Anything on FORTE’s website inconsistent with or conflicting with the terms of this agreement is superseded by the terms of this agreement.
